The recent recession has brought misery to both businesses and homeowners. People that were struggling with debt before the crisis started may have found that their debt got worse while people who weren't in debt at the start of the crisis probably are now. Much of this debt could have been a result of irresponsible lending. Before the crash, banks and other financial institutions were offering loans and credit cards to people that weren't even asking for them. Many people applying for a credit card found that when it arrived the credit limit was higher than what they initially asked for and so it's no wonder that so many people have got themselves into debt over the last few years. When a debt cannot be paid the company that issued the money in the first place isn't likely to pursue their cash for more than a few months.
After they've realized that someone can't pay the money, whatever the reason, they pass the debt onto a collecting agency. This is bad news for the borrower and these companies will attempt everything possible to reclaim the money that is owed. This could even include repossession and this can be a hazardous occupation. Bailiffs aren't all big muscle men, though quite a few are and though these bailiffs aren't the best people to argue with, these guys are still vulnerable to attack when trying to repossess someone's items. People don't like it when they think someone has come around to take their personal possessions and some people will go to great lengths to make sure that they don't lose any of their things. Lone Worker occupations can also be hazardous and there are many jobs which require workers to face members of the public alone. Sometimes situations can get out of control, especially if a member of the public feels they've been short changed or someone has been rude to them.
These misunderstandings can occur frequently and a company that sends its employees out to work alone need to take adequate steps to ensure their safety when they're out and about. Arming employees with weapons isn't a good idea and most employees would refuse this type of protection anyway. It's also illegal and an employee could be in serious trouble if they were to attack a customer in anything other than a life threatening situation. One way to make sure an employee has minimal protection and is able to communicate with the outside world is to arm them with an alarm. If these alarms are sourced from a professional security company they may have GPS capabilities which can identify exactly where an employee is in danger. Once pressed, an alarm goes off in an alarm receiving centre and then help can be called immediately. People in debt with nothing to lose go to extreme lengths to protect the things that they have left, including talking to firms to see if their debt was incurred due to the irresponsible behavior of a lender.
